1. Job Summary

Ganpat University K.K. Institute of Agriculture Sciences & Research (GUNIKKIASR) invites applications for the position of Laboratory Assistant / Field Assistant to provide technical and operational support for laboratory practicals, field activities, academic programmes, research work, sample collection, equipment handling, data recording, and maintenance of laboratory and field facilities.

The candidate will work closely with faculty members, students and researchers and shall support the smooth and safe conduct of laboratory, field and research activities in accordance with applicable University procedures and relevant ICAR norms/guidelines, wherever applicable.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Assist faculty members and students in conducting laboratory practicals, experiments, demonstrations and field activities.
- Prepare and arrange laboratory equipment, instruments, chemicals, samples, tools and consumables required for practical and research activities.
- Operate and handle laboratory equipment and instruments as per prescribed procedures and safety protocols.
- Assist in collection, preparation, labelling, preservation, storage and handling of samples.
- Support field-based activities including field visits, surveys, observations, demonstrations, data collection and experimental work.
- Assist in agricultural, horticultural and allied field activities, including maintenance of experimental plots, nursery areas and demonstration units, wherever applicable.




- Provide technical assistance during practical classes, experiments, research projects and field demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, work areas and field facilities in proper working condition.
- Maintain laboratory records, equipment registers, stock registers, sample records and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals, consumables, tools and field materials and report shortages or maintenance requirements.
- Assist faculty and researchers in recording observations, measurements, field data, experimental results and other technical information.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness, hygiene and safety of laboratories and assigned field areas.
- Follow prescribed SOPs, laboratory safety procedures, institutional policies and applicable regulatory/ICAR guidelines.
- Report any equipment malfunction, damage, safety concern or operational issue to the concerned authority.
- Perform other laboratory, field, academic and research-support duties assigned by the competent authority.

3. Educational Qualification

Candidates possessing a qualification in a relevant discipline from a recognised University/Institution may apply.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in relevant Science/Agriculture/Allied discipline
- B.Tech. / Diploma in relevant technical discipline




- BCA / MCA for Computer Science-related laboratory requirements
- BRS with Skill Certificate in Agriculture
- Any other qualification considered relevant to the laboratory/field requirements of the Institute

6. Experience

Freshers may apply. Candidates having relevant experience in an educational institution, agricultural institute, research laboratory, field project, food laboratory, environmental laboratory or allied sector will be preferred.
