Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples safely and efficiently while providing a comfortable and professional experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection.
- Properly identify patients and verify laboratory orders.
- Label, handle, and transport specimens according to established procedures.
- Follow infection-control and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient and specimen records.
- Prepare patients for blood collection and explain the procedure clearly.
- Handle difficult or special blood draws with appropriate care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification/training preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy or healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and specimen-handling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
