Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process inspection at various stages of automotive carpet manufacturing, including needlepunching, latex/chemical application, drying, cutting, die-cutting, and assembly.
- Verify product parameters such as GSM, thickness, dimensions, appearance, density, hardness/softness, and construction as per approved specifications.
- Monitor and verify process parameters against control plans, work instructions, and parameter sheets.
- Perform first-piece, patrol, and final inspection and maintain inspection records.
- Conduct testing of automotive carpets as per customer specifications, control plans, and applicable test standards.
- Handle laboratory/testing activities including GSM, thickness, tensile strength, elongation, dimensional stability, peel/bond strength, moisture, flammability, and other applicable carpet tests.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of OK/NG material and control non-conforming products.
- Support root cause analysis, 5-Why, corrective action, and preventive action for internal and customer quality issues.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test reports, rejection records, process audit records, and quality documentation.
- Ensure calibration and proper usage of inspection and testing equipment.
- Coordinate with Production,
Process Engineering, and Development teams for resolution of quality issues.
- Support new product development, trials, PPAP/APQP, process validation, and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, control plan, PFMEA, work instructions, and internal QMS procedures.
- Participate in process/product audits and continuous improvement activities to reduce rejection, variation, and customer complaints.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of automotive carpet/nonwoven manufacturing processes.
- Practical knowledge of in-process and final inspection methods.
- Good understanding of carpet testing methods and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to interpret drawing, specification, control plan, PFMEA, and inspection standards.
- Knowledge of 7 QC tools, SPC, MSA, 5-Why, and problem-solving techniques.
- Good understanding of IATF 16949 and automotive quality requirements.
- Ability to analyze quality data and identify process/product variation.
- Positive documentation and reporting skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
