About the Role

Samalkha Group of Institutions (SGI) is seeking an experienced, result-driven Senior Admission Counsellor to join our Admissions Team.

The candidate will be responsible for managing prospective students throughout the complete admissions journey — from initial enquiry and counselling to follow-ups and final admission conversion.

This is a target-oriented role requiring strong face-to-face counselling, tele-counselling, follow-up, objection handling, and conversion skills.

We are specifically looking for candidates with previous experience in student admissions and a proven track record of achieving admission or enrolment targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct face-to-face counselling sessions with prospective students and their parents.
- Contact and counsel prospective students through leads/enquiries assigned by the institution.
- Understand students’ academic backgrounds, interests, career objectives, and eligibility before recommending suitable programs.
- Clearly explain SGI’s programs, eligibility criteria, admission process, fee structure, scholarships, campus facilities, placements, and career opportunities.
- Convert qualified enquiries and prospective students into confirmed admissions.
- Conduct regular and structured follow-ups with students and parents until the admission process is completed.
- Handle student and parent queries, concerns, and objections professionally.




- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, counselling sessions, follow-ups, applications, and admissions in the CRM.
- Ensure timely follow-up on fresh leads generated through digital marketing and other admission channels.
- Achieve assigned monthly and overall admission targets.
- Monitor the individual admissions pipeline and prioritize high-intent prospects.
- Coordinate with the admissions, marketing, and academic teams whenever required.
- Maintain a professional and transparent counselling experience for students and parents.

Candidate Profile

- Prior experience in college/university admissions, education counselling, EdTech, coaching institutes, or education consultancy is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving admission, enrolment, counselling, or sales targets.
- Robust face-to-face counselling and tele-counselling abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Strong follow-up and lead-conversion capabilities.
- Comfortable communicating with both students and parents.
- Ability to understand student requirements and recommend appropriate academic programs.
- Comfortable working in a performance-driven and target-oriented environment.




- Working knowledge of CRM/lead-management systems will be an advantage.
- Candidates should be disciplined, professional, confident, and accountable for their admission targets.

Candidates with previous experience as a:

will be preferred.

Important

This is not a pure telecalling position.

The selected candidate will be expected to handle both face-to-face counselling and lead calling, and take ownership of converting prospective students into confirmed admissions.

Candidates who can demonstrate their previous admission targets, conversion performance, and achievements will be given preference.
