Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse – Labour Room to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology team. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a Labour Room/Obstetrics setting and be capable of providing safe, efficient and patient-centred care to mothers and newborns.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients during labour, delivery and the immediate post-delivery period.
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and promptly report any abnormalities.
- Assist doctors during normal and complicated deliveries and obstetric procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the Labour Room, equipment and emergency supplies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety and hospital protocols.
- Provide postnatal care and support to mothers and newborns.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Handle obstetric emergencies efficiently and assist in emergency interventions.
- Educate and support patients and their attendants regarding labour, delivery and postnatal care.
Eligibility
- B.Sc Nursing /Post B.SC from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant Labour Room experience.
- Valid - KARNATAKA nursing registration.
- Good clinical knowledge and patient-care skills.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights.
