Job Description: A Security cum Safety Officer protects physical assets, manages security operations, and enforces workplace health, safety, and setting (EHS) compliance. Job Title Security cum Safety Officer (or Security, Vigilance & Safety Officer) Role Summary The Security cum Safety Officer oversees 24/7 site security, access control, and asset protection while ensuring strict adherence to occupational safety standards, fire protection, and statutory labor or factory regulations. Key Responsibilities 1. Security & Vigilance Operations

- Access Control: Manage entry and exit gates, visitor management systems, vehicle tracking, and pass/ID card issuances.

- Surveillance & Patrolling: Monitor CCTV networks, conduct regular site patrols, and check security equipment.

- Vendor Management: Supervise third-party security agencies, verify guard deployment, and audit duty rosters.

- Incident Response: Lead initial responses to theft, trespassing, fire, or security breaches, and liaise with local police departments.

- Vigilance & Audits: Conduct surprise checks (stores, scrap yards, dispatch areas, and weighbridges) to prevent fraud, theft, or pilferage.

2. Safety & EHS Management
- Site Inspections: Conduct daily or regular safety audits across plants, warehouses, or loading bays.

- Hazard Control: Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and mitigate workplace risks.

- Compliance Enforcement: Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), work permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), working-at-height,



and confined-space procedures.

- Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness: Inspect fire extinguishers, hydrants, and alarms; organize mock drills and train the Site Emergency Response Team (SERT).

- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports.

3. Training & Documentation
- Toolbox Talks: Conduct daily or weekly safety briefings and safety inductions for new hires and contractors.

- Statutory Records: Maintain security logbooks, incident registers, safety permits, and compliance documentation for factory inspectors or local boards.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Graduation or Post-Graduation in any discipline; specialized diploma or degree in Industrial Safety, EHS, or Fire Safety.

- Certifications: Preferred credentials include NEBOSH, OSHA, or local/state-approved safety officer certifications.

- Experience: 3 to 10+ years of combined experience in industrial security, military/ex-serviceman background (Army/Paramilitary/Police preferred), and plant/construction safety management.

- Key Skills:
- Knowledge of local labor laws, the Factories Act, and OSHA guidelines.
- Firefighting systems operations and first-aid proficiency.
- Conflict management, investigation, and stakeholder liaison skills.
- CCTV and digital surveillance management.
