Job Description – WWT Operator
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) as per operating procedures.
- Ensure treated water quality complies with statutory and environmental standards.
- Monitor process parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, flow rate, and chemical dosing.
- Conduct regular inspections of pumps, blowers, filters, tanks, pipelines, and other treatment equipment.
- Perform routine water testing and maintain accurate records of process data and test results.
- Handle and maintain treatment chemicals safely as per safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board regulations and company IMS/EHS requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the WWT area.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of WWTP/ETP operations and water treatment processes.
- Understanding of water quality testing and chemical handling.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and maintain plant efficiency.
- Positive record-keeping and reporting skills.
