Job Description - Mechanical Engineers (Chemical Plant)

Position: Mechanical Engineer - Junior Position No. of Positions: 2

Experience: 2-3 years

Location: Project Site

Role

Responsible for mechanical engineering, equipment selection, design coordination,

installation, and maintenance support for the chemical plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review mechanical equipment specifications and drawings.

• Handle equipment such as pumps, compressors, tanks, vessels, heat

exchangers, piping, etc.

• Coordinate with process, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and vendors.

• Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documents.

• Support equipment installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning at site.

• Ensure work follows project specifications, safety standards, and

applicable codes.

• Monitor project progress and resolve mechanical issues.





• Coordinate with consultants and contractors.

• Prepare basic mechanical reports, BOQs, and material requirements.

Qualification

• ./ in Mechanical Engineering

• 3-5 years of experience, preferably in chemical/process plant projects.

• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and plant engineering.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Practical skills include piping design, P&ID; reading, pressure vessel codes

(ASME), and safety and HAZOP basics.
