Deputy Manager – Life Insurance: Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Drive life insurance sales by achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with bank branches, channel partners, agents, or customers, depending on the distribution channel.
Identify customer insurance needs and recommend suitable life insurance products.
Generate leads through branch referrals, customer interactions, and field activities.
Recruit, train, motivate, and support advisors or sales executives (if applicable).
Monitor team performance and ensure productivity targets are met.
Conduct joint sales calls and assist team members in closing high-value cases.
Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and company policies.
Maintain accurate sales records, MIS reports, and documentation.
Coordinate with underwriting and operations teams for smooth policy issuance.
Resolve customer queries and provide excellent after-sales service.
Build long-term customer relationships to improve policy renewals and cross-selling prospects.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
Conduct regular review meetings and provide performance feedback to team members.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while maintaining business quality and persistency.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred).
3–7 years of experience in life insurance sales.
Experience in Agency, Bancassurance, Direct Sales, or Alternate Channels.
Solid leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
Positive knowledge of life insurance products, sales processes, and regulatory guidelines.
Ability to achieve sales targets and manage a team effectively.
