Position: Manufacturing Domain Expert / Process Transformation Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manufacturing Domain Expert / Process Transformation Consultant with strong hands-on knowledge of manufacturing plant operations, preferably in Steel, Metals, Heavy Engineering, Automotive, or similar industries.

The candidate will assess current plant processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, design improved To-Be processes, and translate business requirements into technology and RFP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess end-to-end manufacturing processes including production planning, raw material planning, procurement, inventory, stores, warehouse, material movement, BOM, shop-floor operations, quality, maintenance, dispatch and costing.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and shop-floor observations.
- Document As-Is processes, workflows, roles, systems and dependencies.
- Identify bottlenecks, manual activities, process gaps, data issues and automation opportunities.
- Design practical To-Be processes, workflows, controls and system touchpoints.
- Identify opportunities across ERP, MES, WMS, SCM, BI, IoT, automation and AI.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, use cases, process maps, integration, data, reporting and KPI requirements.
- Prepare RFI/RFP/RFQ documentation, scope, deliverables and vendor evaluation criteria.




- Support technology solution/vendor evaluation and ensure solutions align with business requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, consulting, process transformation or manufacturing technology.
- Strong practical knowledge of plant/shop-floor operations.
- Experience in Steel / Metals / Heavy Engineering / Automotive or similar manufacturing domains preferred.
- Robust experience in As-Is / To-Be process mapping and gap analysis.
- Good understanding of ERP, MES, SCM, WMS, Quality, Maintenance and BI systems.
- Robust Business Analysis and requirements-gathering skills.
- Experience with RFP preparation and technology vendor evaluation preferred.
- Exposure to software development, application architecture or technology solutions is an advantage.
- Must be comfortable working directly with plant personnel and senior business stakeholders.
