Position: Head of Procurement (VP) - Renewable Energy

Location: Hyderabad

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Executive Summary

The Head of Procurement (Vice President) will oversee all direct and indirect sourcing, logistics, and procurement operations across the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive leader will drive strategic supply chain management—from demand forecasting and BOQ creation through vendor negotiation, contract execution, delivery tracking, and post-fulfillment performance reviews. The ideal candidate will combine deep renewable energy industry expertise with analytical precision to optimize procurement costs, align cross-functional stakeholders, and establish robust end-to-end supply chain systems.

Core Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Demand Planning

- Collaborate with business unit leaders to drive budget inputs and align procurement activities with broader corporate objectives.
- Provide accurate Bill of Quantity (BOQ) estimates during the pre-bidding stage to strengthen proposal accuracy.
- Streamline RFP and proposal drafting processes by obtaining competitive vendor quotations.
- Partner with installation and operations teams to forecast long-term material needs and prevent inventory bottlenecks.
- Monitor global commodity trends, raw material markets, and pricing dynamics for critical renewable energy components (such as modules, inverters, and turbines).
- Continuously refine design and engineering teams on current market pricing and supply chain innovations.

Procurement & Strategic Vendor Management

- Direct and oversee all global and local purchasing activities across the business lifecycle.
- Lead end-to-end supplier management, including rigorous vendor due diligence, contract negotiation, and quality control.
- Implement modern SCM systems, standardizing contract templates and legal terms to mitigate operational and financial risk.




- Optimize inventory levels by streamlining replenishment cycles and minimizing old or non-moving stock.
- Continuously drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining high standards for material quality and vendor performance.

Logistics & Supply Chain Operations

- Establish long-term partnerships with standardized, reliable carriers and freight forwarders.
- Oversee material scheduling and delivery tracking to ensure seamless component availability across project sites.
- Manage transportation logistics, ensuring timely transit arrangements and complete insurance coverage for all transit goods.
- Manage shipping documentation, including delivery orders and shipping releases.
- Coordinate purchase order tracking, collect supplier invoices with Material Receipt Notes (MRNs) from job sites, and facilitate smooth handovers to the finance department.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution; a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent management degree is highly desirable.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive senior leadership in supply chain management, vendor negotiations, cost optimization, and procurement within the Renewable Energy sector
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern sourcing frameworks, procurement management software, relevant legislative/regulatory standards, and complex contractual terms.
