Role Description
The Visiting Faculty – French role is a on-site position based in Mumbai at Athena School of Management. The faculty member will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing French language courses, with a focus on business communication and skilled contexts. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting interactive classroom sessions, assigning and grading assessments, and providing constructive feedback to learners. The role involves mentoring learners in spoken and written French, facilitating language labs or conversation groups,
and integrating relevant business case studies or scenarios. The faculty member will also participate in academic meetings, contribute to curriculum enhancement, and collaborate with other faculty to ensure high-quality, engaging language learning experiences.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in French (near-native or advanced level) with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience teaching French, preferably at the higher education or professional level, with familiarity in business French or corporate communication.
- Relevant academic background, such as a degree in French, applied linguistics, languages, literature, or a closely related field.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities that promote practical language use and learner participation.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to work with diverse learner groups and varied proficiency levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a learner-centered approach and commitment to mentoring and holistic development.
- Comfort with using digital tools and educational technology to support language teaching and assessment.
- Prior experience in business schools or management education is an advantage; exposure to corporate environments or cross-cultural workplaces is beneficial.
