GENERAL MANAGER – TRANSPORTATION
Experience: 12–18 Years | Location: Chennai / Pan India

Key Objective
To lead and grow the Pan-India transportation business through customer acquisition, customer management, transporter/vendor sourcing, operational excellence, cost control and team development.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition: Acquire current customers, generate leads, handle RFQs/tenders, costing, commercial proposals and achieve revenue and profitability targets.

- Customer Management: Manage key accounts, ensure customer satisfaction and retention, and develop additional business from existing customers.
- Pan-India Vendor Sourcing: Identify, evaluate and onboard transporters/fleet vendors across India and build a strong, reliable and competitive vendor network.
- Fleet & Vendor Management: Ensure vehicle availability, deployment and utilization; monitor vendor performance and negotiate freight rates/commercial terms.
- Operations & Cost Control: Ensure timely pickup/delivery as per SLAs; optimize routes, vehicle utilization and transportation costs; monitor customer-wise and route-wise profitability.
- Team Leadership: Build,



develop and lead a high-performing transportation and business development team; set targets, monitor performance and develop future leaders.

Mandatory Candidate Profile
12–18 years of relevant experience in Transportation / 3PL / Logistics.

- Must have worked in a company handling minimum ₹100 Crore annual transportation business/turnover.
- Strong Pan-India transportation experience and established transporter/fleet-owner network.
- Proven track record in customer acquisition and business development.
- Strong expertise in transportation costing, freight negotiation, route profitability and vendor management.
- Experience managing large customers, operations and transportation teams.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, leadership and customer-management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.

Ideal Candidate: A proven transportation professional who has managed/scaled ₹100+ Crore Pan-India transportation business, acquired major customers, built a strong vendor network and delivered profitable growth.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
