CNC-WEDM Programmer cum Department In-Charge

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities

- Develop CNC Wire Cut EDM programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, 2D/3D models, GD&T; requirements, and customer specifications.
- Set up and operate WEDM machines for precision machining activities.
- Select suitable machining parameters, wire type, dielectric settings, and cutting strategies.
- Manufacture high-precision mould components, die components, inserts, punches, cavities, cores, sliders, and electrodes.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, profile projectors, and CMM reports.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to wire breakage, taper inaccuracies, surface finish, and dimensional deviations.
- Maintain tool and program databases for repeat jobs.
- Optimize machining cycle times and electrode consumption.
- Coordinate with Design, Tool Room, NPD, Quality, and Production departments.

Department Management Responsibilities

- Plan daily workload and machine scheduling.
- Allocate jobs to operators and technicians based on priorities.
- Monitor machine utilization and productivity.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
- Conduct manpower planning and shift allocation.
- Monitor consumable inventory such as wire, filters, resins, dielectric fluids, and spare parts.
- Prepare daily production reports and management MIS reports.
- Implement corrective actions for quality and productivity improvements.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping as per 5S standards.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Quality Responsibilities

- Ensure components meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Implement process controls to minimize rejection and rework.
- Support PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, and customer quality requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and 8D corrective actions.




- Ensure calibration compliance of measuring instruments.
- Maintain machining process documentation and records.

Safety Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks on machines and equipment.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by departmental personnel.
- Eliminate unsafe conditions and practices within the department.

Authority

- Approve machine setup and machining parameters.
- Allocate manpower and machine resources.
- Recommend overtime requirements for achieving delivery targets.
- Raise requisitions for consumables, tooling, and spare parts.
- Stop production in case of quality or safety concerns.
- Recommend training needs and performance improvement actions for team members.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.

Experience

- 5 years of experience in CNC Wire Cut EDM Programming and Operations.
- Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory or departmental leadership role preferred.
- Experience in mould manufacturing, tool room operations, precision engineering, or automotive components industry.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
