About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager – Fabrication to lead strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor development and cost optimization for fabricated components and engineering materials in a manufacturing environment.

The role will focus on procurement and supplier management across:

- Sheet Metal Components & Fabricated Parts
- Laser / Plasma Cutting & CNC Bending
- Welded Assemblies & Machined Components
- Powder Coating & Painted Components
- Jigs, Fixtures, Tooling & New Part Development
- Engineering Materials & Outsourced Fabrication

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, engineering drawings, material costing, supplier negotiations and manufacturing procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end procurement of fabricated components, sheet metal parts, weldments, fixtures and related engineering materials.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure competitive pricing, quality and timely delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, develop and manage vendors for fabrication, machining, welding, laser cutting and surface treatment processes.
- Manage RFQs, technical and commercial bid comparisons, supplier negotiations and purchase order finalization.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis considering raw material prices, fabrication processes, machining time and manufacturing costs.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms and quality requirements.




- Manage purchase orders and work orders based on BOM, engineering drawings and production schedules.
- Coordinate procurement of jigs, welding fixtures, tooling and new product development components.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery and service.
- Coordinate with production, design and quality teams for sample approvals, drawing clarifications and supplier quality issues.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays and line stoppages.
- Manage inventory planning, reorder levels and KANBAN-based procurement systems.
- Handle local and imported procurement, including capital purchases.
- Ensure procurement compliance, documentation and support for ISO 9001 audits.
- Prepare purchase MIS reports covering procurement spend, cost savings, vendor performance and pending orders.
- Lead and develop the purchase team to ensure effective procurement operations.

Candidate Profile

- 15–18 years of experience in procurement of fabricated components within a manufacturing company.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Strong experience in sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, machining and powder coating.
- Proven expertise in vendor development, supplier negotiations, procurement planning and cost optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerances and material specifications.
- Strong understanding of fabrication costing, raw material pricing and should-cost analysis.
- Experience in supplier quality management, vendor audits and corrective action processes.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM, Oracle or other ERP systems.




- Proficiency in MS Excel for cost analysis, procurement tracking and MIS reporting.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, GST, procurement contracts and basic import documentation.
- Experience in sourcing tooling, fixtures and new development parts will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical and cross-functional coordination skills.
