1. Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality teaching in Zoology, contribute to academic development, guide students, participate in research and departmental activities, and support the overall academic objectives of the institution.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct lectures, practical classes, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in Zoology.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, question papers, and other academic resources.
- Teach subjects related to areas such as Animal Diversity, Cell Biology, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology, Physiology, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, and related Zoology subjects as assigned.
- Conduct and supervise practical/laboratory work while ensuring proper laboratory discipline and safety.
- Evaluate students through internal assessments, assignments, practical examinations, presentations, and other academic activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance, academic records, and student performance data in the ERP/system.
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and counselling to students.
- Support students in projects, dissertations, seminars, presentations, and academic competitions.
- Participate in university/college examinations, invigilation, evaluation, and other examination-related duties.
- Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, FDPs, and institutional events.
- Undertake research activities and contribute to publications in reputed journals/conferences.
- Develop innovative teaching methods and use technology/digital resources to enhance learning.
- Assist in curriculum development, academic planning, and departmental documentation.




- Support NAAC/IQAC, accreditation, compliance, and other institutional academic requirements.
- Maintain discipline and promote a positive learning environment.
- Perform any other academic or administrative responsibilities assigned by the HOD/Principal/Management.

3. Educational Qualification

- Master’s Degree in Zoology / Life Sciences / relevant discipline from a recognized university with the required minimum percentage as per applicable UGC/university norms.
- NET/SET/SLET qualification as applicable.
- Ph.D. in Zoology / relevant discipline will be preferred.
- Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by the applicable regulatory/university authorities.

4. Experience

- Relevant teaching experience in a college/university is preferred.
- Freshers meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria may also be considered.

5. Required Skills

- Strong subject knowledge in Zoology.
- Valuable communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle practical/laboratory classes effectively.
- Student mentoring and classroom management skills.
- Research and academic writing skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office, ERP/LMS, and digital teaching tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and administrative teams.
