Site Engineer – Telecom (UBR Project)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Site Engineer – Telecom to support UBR (Unlicensed Band Radio) deployment and related telecom activities. The candidate will be responsible for site-level installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, coordination, and ensuring timely completion of assigned UBR activities as per project and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute UBR installation, integration, commissioning, and deployment activities at telecom sites.
- Coordinate with the project team, technicians, customers, and other stakeholders for site activities.
- Perform site surveys and verify site readiness before installation.
- Handle installation and configuration of UBR/RF equipment, antennas, cables, power connections, and related telecom equipment.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting of UBR links, connectivity, alarms, and hardware-related issues.
- Perform link alignment and ensure proper installation as per approved standards.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of UBR links and ensure successful service activation.
- Monitor site progress and ensure activities are completed within the given timelines.
- Maintain proper site documentation, checklists, photographs, and completion reports.
- Coordinate with NOC/technical teams for fault resolution and link optimization.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.




- Travel to different project locations as required.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in telecom-related work is preferred.
- Experience in UBR, microwave, RF, telecom installation, commissioning, or O&M; will be an advantage.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge and willingness to work in the field may also apply.

Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of IP networking and telecom infrastructure.
- Understanding of IP addressing, ping, traceroute, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of RF/UBR or microwave communication is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of routers, switches, antennas, cables, and telecom power systems.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings and follow installation procedures.

Other Requirements

- Willingness to travel and work at different telecom sites.
- Must be comfortable working in outdoor and field conditions.
- Must be willing to climb telecom towers where required, subject to safety requirements.
- Good coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and timely project completion.
