Job Description: Head – Production & Formulation

Role summary

YNM Safety is seeking a hands-on leader to manage production and product formulation for its road safety product range. The role will oversee manufacturing operations, develop and improve formulations, maintain product quality, and build reliable, cost-effective production systems.

Key responsibilities

Production and operations

- Plan daily, weekly and monthly production based on orders, inventory and dispatch schedules.
- Manage production of hot thermoplastic road marking paint, MMA cold plastic, acrylic and water-based paints, primers, hardeners and related products.
- Ensure production follows approved batch sheets, process parameters and safety procedures.
- Improve plant capacity, equipment utilisation, yield and labour productivity.
- Coordinate procurement, stores and dispatch teams to maintain the availability of raw materials and finished goods.
- Track production costs, material consumption, wastage, rework and downtime; take corrective action where needed.
- Maintain equipment, housekeeping and safe working practices across the production area.

Formulation and product development

- Develop, test and optimise formulations to meet customer specifications, applicable standards and target costs.
- Evaluate raw materials and suppliers for suitability, consistency and cost effectiveness.
- Lead trials, scale-up and production transfer of new or revised formulations.
- Investigate customer complaints and product failures, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain formulation records, batch sheets, test methods and technical documentation.




- Work with the Quality team on testing, product validation and consistency across batches.
- Support preparation and review of TDS, SDS/MSDS, COA and other product documents.

Team and coordination

- Lead, train and develop production, laboratory and formulation staff.
- Coordinate with Sales and Projects teams on technical enquiries, product trials and application feedback.
- Provide technical support for customer demonstrations and site issues when required.
- Share regular updates on production plans, output, quality, material requirements and formulation progress with management.

Qualifications and experience

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paint Technology, Polymer Science or a related field.
- Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience in paints, coatings, chemicals, polymers or road marking products, including production and formulation responsibilities.
- Practical experience with thermoplastic road marking paint and at least one of MMA, acrylic or water-based coating systems is preferred.
- Experience managing batch manufacturing, laboratory testing, plant teams, raw-material sourcing and production scale-up.
- Robust understanding of quality control, process safety, cost control and root-cause analysis.

- Number and recurrence of customer complaints.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
