Technical Product Research & International Sourcing Specialist – Australian Construction Market

We are looking for an India-based professional to research construction products for the Australian market and identify reliable, competitively priced manufacturers in China, India and other countries.

Our initial focus is on soil nails and accessories, geogrids, geotextiles, strip drains, slope stabilisation and erosion control products. You will also help identify other products with demand in the Australian civil construction and geotechnical sectors.

What you will do

- Research Australian market demand, commonly specified products, existing suppliers and indicative selling prices.
- Identify and contact manufacturers, obtain quotations and samples, and compare pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and shipping options.
- Review Australian Standards, Transport for NSW specifications and project requirements relevant to each product.
- Request and organise technical data sheets, drawings, material specifications, test reports and quality certificates from suppliers.
- Prepare clear comparison spreadsheets showing product specifications, supporting evidence, supplier details and estimated landed costs.
- Flag missing test results or differences between a supplier’s product and the Australian requirements. Product suitability will be reviewed by our Australian technical team.
- Communicate with suppliers in writing and by video call,



and follow up consistently.

Australian references you will be expected to research

These may include AS 4678 (earth retaining structures), the AS 3706 series (geotextile test methods), and relevant Transport for NSW specifications, including R64 (soil nailing), R63 (geotextiles for separation and filtration) and 3557 (flexible strip filter drains). You must check the current edition and the requirements applicable to each product and project; a supplier’s general claim of compliance is not enough.

What we are looking for

- Experience or sound knowledge in civil construction, geotechnical products, slope stabilisation, drainage, geosynthetics or construction materials.
- Strong online research skills and confidence using Excel or Google Sheets to compare technical and commercial information.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, test reports and product data sheets.
- Strong written and spoken English, with clear communication across different time zones.
- Experience finding and dealing with international manufacturers is highly regarded.
- An engineering or construction qualification is preferred, but relevant product sourcing experience will also be considered.
