Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing robust server-side applications, REST APIs, database architecture, integrations, and backend business logic.

You will work closely with Frontend Developers, Flutter Developers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, Project Managers, and clients to deliver reliable and scalable digital products.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
- Design and develop secure and scalable RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Build reusable backend services and business logic.
- Design, develop, and optimize databases using MongoDB and MySQL.
- Create efficient database schemas, queries, indexes, and relationships.
- Implement authentication and authorization using JWT, sessions, cookies, and role-based access control.
- Develop APIs for frontend web applications and mobile applications.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services such as:
- Payment gateways
- SMS services
- Email services
- WhatsApp APIs
- Google APIs
- Cloud/storage services
- Other external business APIs
- Handle file uploads, image/document processing, and cloud storage integrations.
- Implement validation, error handling, logging, and security best practices.
- Optimize APIs and database queries for performance and scalability.
- Work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve backend and integration issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.
- Debug production issues and provide timely fixes.
- Collaborate with QA teams for testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Maintain API documentation using tools such as Postman/Swagger.
- Work with Git/GitHub/GitLab for source-code management.
- Assist with deployment and server-side configuration when required.
- Understand project requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager and development team to ensure timely project delivery.

Required Technical SkillsBackend Development

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
- Strong knowledge of Express.js
- Good understanding of JavaScript / ES6+




- Experience developing REST APIs
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture

Database

- Robust experience with MongoDB
- Good working knowledge of MySQL
- Database design and normalization
- Query optimization and indexing
- Experience with Mongoose or similar ODM/ORM tools

Authentication & Security

- JWT authentication
- Session and cookie management
- Role-based access control
- Password encryption/hashing
- API security
- Input validation and sanitization
- Understanding of common web security vulnerabilities

API & Integration

- REST API development
- Third-party API integration
- Payment gateway integration
- SMS/Email API integration
- Webhooks
- API testing using Postman
- API documentation

Development Tools

- Git / GitHub / GitLab
- Postman
- VS Code or similar IDE
- npm
- Basic Linux/CLI knowledge

- Experience with PM2

- Understanding of microservices architecture

Education

- B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / BCA / M.Tech / equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Candidates with strong practical development experience may also be considered irrespective of their educational background.

Experience

3–5 years of relevant backend development experience.

Candidates with experience in a software development company, IT services company, SaaS organization, or product-based environment will be preferred.
