RMC Plant Operator – Job DescriptionJob Summary

The RMC Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ready-mix concrete batching plant. The primary focus is producing concrete accurately as per the approved mix design, monitoring equipment health, and coordinating with quality control and dispatch teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Batching

- Operate the control panel or automated batching system to weigh cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures accurately as per the approved mix design
- Monitor mixing time, batching sequence, and discharge process to ensure consistent concrete quality
- Adjust water content based on aggregate moisture levels to maintain the correct water-cement ratio

Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance

- Perform daily pre-start and post-shutdown checks to ensure equipment readiness
- Monitor the condition of mixers, conveyors, silos, weigh sensors, and other plant equipment
- Identify and report equipment alarms, abnormalities, or breakdowns; coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective repairs

Quality Control Support

- Ensure batching strictly follows mix design and quality standards
- Assist lab personnel with sampling, slump tests, and other quality checks




- Report or pause production if concrete quality issues are observed

Dispatch & Documentation

- Coordinate with dispatch and transit mixer drivers to ensure timely loading and delivery
- Maintain daily production records, material consumption logs, equipment running logs, and downtime reports
- Monitor raw material stock levels and report shortages

Safety & Housekeeping

- Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly
- Keep the batching plant area clean and organized

Typical Requirements

- Education: ITI / Diploma preferred; Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil background is an advantage
- Experience: Typically 1–5 years of RMC plant operation experience; familiarity with automated batching systems preferred
- Skills: Knowledge of concrete materials, mix designs, and basic mechanical troubleshooting; positive coordination and communication skills; willing to work in shifts

Salary Range (India)

Approximately ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month, depending on experience and location

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
