Role Summary

We are looking for experienced Protection Engineers with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in protection relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance for HV/EHV substations. Candidates should have experience with one or more major OEM protection systems such as GE, Siemens, Hitachi Energy/ABB, Schneider Electric, SEL or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out protection relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance at substations.
- Configure and parameterize numerical protection relays and verify protection settings.
- Review SLDs, protection schemes, wiring diagrams, control schematics and approved drawings.
- Perform secondary injection testing and functional testing of protection schemes.
- Test and verify CT/VT circuits, trip circuits, breaker control circuits and interlocking.
- Perform testing of distance, differential, overcurrent, earth-fault, breaker-failure, auto-reclose and other protection functions.
- Support end-to-end, inter-trip, permissive and communication-based protection testing where required.
- Analyze relay event records, disturbance records and fault indications.
- Coordinate with SCADA/SAS, commissioning, QA/QC, OEM and client teams.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Prepare test reports, commissioning records and technical documentation.
- Follow Saudi project requirements, client specifications, approved procedures and applicable IEC standards.

Qualification & Other Requirements

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years of relevant protection experience.
- Indian nationality required.
- Saudi Arabia / GCC project experience is an advantage.
- Experience with HV/EHV substations is preferred.
- Candidate must be willing to work at project/substation locations in Saudi Arabia.
- Saudi client/utility standards and project experience are an advantage.
