Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Assistant Manager – Production to manage and monitor day-to-day furniture production activities. The ideal candidate should have robust knowledge of furniture manufacturing, production planning, manpower handling, quality control, material management, and shop-floor operations.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely production, maintaining quality standards, optimizing manpower and resources, and coordinating effectively with Design, PPC, Purchase, QC, and Dispatch teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and monitor daily furniture production activities as per project requirements and production schedules.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Supervise and manage production supervisors, operators, carpenters, helpers, and other shop-floor manpower.
- Allocate manpower and machines effectively based on production priorities.
- Monitor the complete production process including cutting, edge banding, CNC operations, drilling, assembly, polishing, finishing, and final inspection.
- Coordinate with PPC, Design, Purchase, QC, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Review drawings, cutting lists, BOMs, and production requirements before starting jobs.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action to minimize delays and downtime.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce material wastage, rework, and production losses.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular shop-floor inspections and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures.
- Track daily production output and prepare production reports and MIS.




- Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, and overall production efficiency.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance requirements with the maintenance team to minimize machine breakdowns.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, process improvement, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain proper production records, rejection reports, rework reports, and daily output reports.
- Train and guide production team members to improve productivity, workmanship, and safety awareness.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices across the production floor.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
