Job Description: AMOS Business Analyst
Location: Kochi
Experience: 8-10 years
Department: Global Technology & Enterprise Services (GTES) Function: AMOS Platform / Billing & Financial Systems Reports to: Program Manager / Director, Platform Engineering Location: [Insert location — remote/hybrid/onsite] Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the AMOS (billing and invoicing) platform as part of our ongoing migration from legacy systems (GMAX/AGM) to AMOS across multiple international markets. This role sits at the intersection of business requirements, financial/billing logic, and technical delivery — translating market-specific billing, tax, and card-processing rules into clear specifications that development and QA teams can build and test against.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working across GDS platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo), card/payment feeds, invoicing and tax compliance requirements (e.g., VAT, TADC), and cross-functional coordination with global stakeholders, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Market Analysis
Analyze market-specific billing, card feed, and invoicing requirements across multiple countries and translate them into clear, testable specifications.
Maintain and update market analysis trackers (status, complexity, dependencies) and report progress to stakeholders and leadership.
Identify and document dependencies on external systems and partners (GDS providers, rail providers, card networks, tax engines).
Card Feed & MI Mapping
Validate and define MI (Management Information) reference field mappings between source systems (GMAX/AGM) and AMOS, ensuring alignment with card network specifications (e.g., Amex TADC).
Investigate and resolve data mapping discrepancies (e.g., field-length constraints, swapped or mismatched reference fields) in coordination with technical and card-network teams.
Migration & Cutover Support
Support pilot and production cutover planning — reviewing DK/account lists,
reporting IDs, transaction volumes, and product configurations ahead of go-live.
Coordinate cutover readiness across GDS-managed and partner-managed feeds (e.g., Amadeus-managed vs. non-Amadeus/partner-managed sales units).
Track and report on go/no-go criteria, open defects, and outstanding dependencies before each cutover.
Dispute & Exception Analysis
Analyze dispute and exception data (e.g., authorization failures, card/FOP mismatches, VAT/tax validation errors, write-offs) to identify root causes and quantify financial exposure.
Prepare status updates and recommendations for leadership, distinguishing recoverable balances from permanent losses and proposing remediation priorities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, engineering teams, QA, and external vendors/partners (e.g., GDS providers, card networks, outsourced development vendors) to drive issues to resolution.
Manage and track defects, user stories, and change requests through JIRA, ensuring clear ownership and timely closure.
Communicate clearly and concisely with senior/executive stakeholders, tailoring technical detail to the audience.
Documentation & Reporting
Produce clear business requirement documents, process flow diagrams, and status reports.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date tracking of feature/defect status, complexity, and market coverage.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial systems, billing/invoicing platforms, or travel/payments technology.
Strong understanding of billing, invoicing, and card-payment processing concepts (form of payment,
tokenization/masking, VAT/tax rules, reconciliation).
Experience working with or analyzing GDS platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo) is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Excel/spreadsheet-based analysis (pivot tables, data reconciliation, large dataset analysis).
Experience with JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools for requirements and defect management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex technical/financial issues for senior leadership.
Experience coordinating across distributed, global teams and time zones.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data accuracy and detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with AMOS, AGM, GMAX, Suntec, or NFP platforms (or equivalent travel/expense billing systems).
Experience with card network reporting/compliance specifications (e.g., Amex TADC).
Familiarity with rail and hotel billback processes, LinkOnline/rail data feeds, or similar travel-industry data integrations.
Experience managing or coordinating with outsourced development vendors.
Exposure to European VAT/tax compliance requirements (e.g., Spain, Nordics, DACH markets).
Soft Skills
Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity through structured analysis.
Confident communicating status, risk, and financial exposure to senior/executive stakeholders.
Collaborative and proactive in resolving cross-team dependencies.
Note: This description reflects the scope of AMOS-related business analyst work as commonly practiced (market/billing analysis, card feed mapping, migration cutover support, dispute/exception analysis, and cross-functional coordination). Please adjust seniority level, compensation grade, location, and specific tooling requirements to match your organization's HR templates and the exact scope of the open role.
Pay: ₹1,700,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
