Summary:
The ideal candidate should have strong functional knowledge of production planning and detailed scheduling processes and should have completed at least 1–2 end-to-end SAP ePPDS/PPDS implementations. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, manufacturing teams, and other SAP functional and technical teams to design and implement scalable production planning and scheduling solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Participate in end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA Embedded PPDS (ePPDS) solutions.
Conduct requirement-gathering and process-design workshops with business stakeholders.
Understand current production planning and scheduling processes and translate business requirements into SAP ePPDS solutions.
Perform Fit-to-Standard/Fit-Gap analysis and prepare functional solution designs.
Configure and implement ePPDS functionalities covering:
o Production Planning Run
o Product Planning
o Detailed Scheduling
o Resource Scheduling
o Capacity Planning and Capacity Leveling
o Pegging and product-resource relationships
o Heuristics




o Optimization concepts
o Scheduling strategies
o Alerts and exception management
o PP/DS Planning Board
o Product View and planning-related applications
Work with relevant master data, including:
o Product/Material Master
o Location
o Resource/Work Center
o BOM
o Routing/Recipe
o Production Version
o PDS (Production Data Structure)
Configure and understand PP/DS relevant material and resource settings, planning procedures, horizons, lot-sizing parameters, and scheduling parameters.
Understand integration between S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and embedded PPDS, including transfer of master and transactional data.
Design solutions for finite capacity planning and detailed production scheduling based on manufacturing constraints.
Configure and execute relevant PPDS heuristics and support evaluation of appropriate planning strategies.
Work closely with other functional teams for end-to-end process integration.
Prepare functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, reports and other developments where required.
Support unit testing, SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live and hypercare activities.
Perform issue analysis and troubleshooting for planning and scheduling problems.




Prepare functional documentation, configuration documents, test scripts, training materials and user guides.
Support business users through knowledge transfer and training.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Embedded PPDS (ePPDS).
Must have completed at least 1–2 end-to-end SAP PPDS/ePPDS implementations.

o Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
o Capacity Planning
o Detailed Scheduling
o Manufacturing master data
o Production orders and planned orders
Hands-on experience with PPDS master data, heuristics, planning procedures, scheduling strategies and planning boards.
Good understanding of finite and infinite scheduling concepts.
Solid understanding of integration between SAP S/4HANA PP and ePPDS.
Experience in preparing functional specifications and working with ABAP/technical teams.
Good analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
Previous experience with SAP APO PP/DS and migration/transformation to S/4HANA ePPDS.
Understanding of Kinaxis and its integration with S/4HANA/ePPDS.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications relevant to production planning and scheduling.
Experience with complex manufacturing scenarios involving alternate resources, sequence-dependent setup, set up matrix, campaign planning or bottleneck-resource scheduling.
