About the Role

We are looking for a strong Hardware Engineer with hands-on experience in laptop/notebook motherboard design and development. The ideal candidate should have experience working on complete laptop motherboard development, from schematic design and component selection through PCB development, board bring-up, debugging, validation, and production support.

Candidates with experience in laptop/notebook ODM/OEM environments will be strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop laptop/notebook motherboards and mainboards.
- Develop, review, and troubleshoot hardware schematics.
- Work on multilayer PCB design, high-speed signals, power distribution, and signal integrity.
- Design and debug power circuits including VRM, PMIC, DC-DC converters, battery charging and power sequencing.
- Work with Intel/AMD-based laptop platforms and associated chipsets.
- Handle DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, USB/USB-C, HDMI/DisplayPort, SATA, audio, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and other high-speed interfaces.
- Work with BIOS, EC (Embedded Controller), firmware and hardware interfaces during board bring-up and debugging.
- Perform board bring-up, validation, testing and failure analysis.
- Identify and resolve hardware issues at the component and board level.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and power supplies for hardware debugging.
- Support prototype builds, engineering validation and production ramp-up.
- Review BOMs, component specifications, alternates and hardware changes.
- Work closely with PCB layout, BIOS/firmware, mechanical, manufacturing and validation teams.
- Coordinate with suppliers and component vendors for technical issues and design changes.
- Prepare and maintain hardware design documentation, test reports and validation reports.




- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for field or production issues.

Required SkillsMust Have

- 5–10+ years of experience in hardware design/development.
- Proven hands-on experience in laptop/notebook motherboard development.
- Strong understanding of schematics and PCB design.
- Experience with power architecture and power sequencing.
- Good understanding of BIOS and Embedded Controller (EC).
- Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, DDR, HDMI/DP.
- Experience in board bring-up, hardware validation and debugging.
- Robust knowledge of electronic components and circuit-level troubleshooting.
- Experience using hardware debugging and measurement equipment.

Preferred

- Experience with Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Inventec, Foxconn, Pegatron or other laptop ODM/OEM environments.
- Experience with Intel or AMD notebook platforms.
- Experience working with BIOS/EC teams.
- Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and power integrity.
- Experience supporting products from prototype through mass production.

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics / Electrical / ECE / Embedded Systems / related engineering discipline.

- Laptop chip-level repair
