Position: Chess Tutor – Beginner LevelStudent Profile

We are looking for a chess tutor for a student, approximately 8 years old, who is a beginner and currently knows only the basic movements of chess pieces.

Eligibility (Mandatory)

Only apply if you meet the following requirements:

- Chess Qualifications & Experience (Mandatory):
- A recognised chess coaching certification from FIDE or a national chess federation is mandatory. Relevant credentials may include FIDE Instructor, National Instructor, or equivalent qualifications.
- Chess ratings and tournament experience will be considered an advantage as evidence of playing strength.
- Prior experience teaching children, especially beginners aged 6–10, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to teach chess concepts in a structured, engaging, and age-appropriate manner are essential.
- Strong knowledge of chess fundamentals, rules, and gameplay.
- Prior experience teaching chess to young children and beginners is preferred.
- Ability to teach piece movements, board setup, basic rules, and fundamental strategies from scratch.
- Knowledge of basic tactics, checkmate patterns, and opening principles appropriate for beginners.
- Ability to develop logical thinking, concentration, and problem-solving skills through chess.
- Patient, engaging, and able to make lessons interactive and enjoyable for young learners.
- Ability to provide suitable practice activities, puzzles, and assignments.




- Ability to assess student progress and gradually introduce more advanced concepts.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to online teaching.
- Relevant tournament experience or an established chess rating is an advantage.

Technical Requirements (Mandatory)

- Laptop/Desktop
- Stable, high-speed internet connection

- Quiet and professional teaching environment
- Ability to use an online chessboard or interactive chess platform for teaching

Responsibilities

- Teach chess fundamentals from the beginner level.
- Help the student understand board setup, piece movements, rules, and basic gameplay.
- Introduce beginner-friendly tactics, puzzles, and checkmate patterns.
- Develop logical reasoning, concentration, and decision-making skills.
- Conduct interactive practice games and explain mistakes constructively.
- Track progress and gradually increase the difficulty of lessons.
- Share practice activities and provide regular progress updates to the academy.

Availability Required

The teacher must be available for one of the following options:

- Option 1: Early morning sessions, Tuesday to Saturday.
- Option 2: Late evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

The exact timing and class schedule will be finalised based on mutual availability.
