DevOps / Platform Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and operate mission-critical infrastructure across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in virtualization, bare-metal provisioning, Linux systems, Kubernetes, automation, and on-premise infrastructure.

Core Competencies

Mandatory & Non-Negotiable

- Deep VMware vSphere expertise – ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T
- Proxmox / KVM expertise for cost-sensitive and classified deployments
- PXE Boot, IPMI / iDRAC and custom ISO pipelines for bare-metal provisioning
- Hands-on hardware knowledge – firmware, BIOS/UEFI, hardware RAID, NIC teaming
- Linux – Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience with any major Linux flavour/distribution such as RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, CentOS, etc.
- Kernel & OS-level expertise – Mandatory:Linux system administration, systemd, cgroups, kernel tuning, and OS-level performance optimisation

Additional Core Competencies

- Kubernetes deployment and maintenance – Vanilla Kubernetes, RKE2, or OpenShift
- Container image lifecycle management – Harbor, vulnerability scanning, image signing, and air-gapped transfers
- Ansible – complex playbooks and custom modules
- Terraform with local/on-premise backends
- Self-hosted GitLab or Jenkins with controlled plugin management
- Artifact management – Nexus / Artifactory and package repositories Offline builds, dependency management, and reproducible builds
- GitOps using ArgoCD or Flux
- Python / Go / Bash for internal automation and tooling
- RPM / DEB packaging and custom package builds

Key Responsibilities

- Architect, deploy, and operate virtualization and bare-metal infrastructure across enterprise environments.
- Design and maintain highly secure, isolated infrastructure with minimal external dependencies.
- Build and maintain offline software supply chains, including local container registries and artifact repositories.




- Design and implement PXE-based bare-metal provisioning pipelines.
- Manage VMware, Proxmox/KVM, and Linux-based infrastructure.
- Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters in on-premise environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting.
- Implement monitoring and observability across infrastructure and application environments.
- Harden Linux systems and maintain security and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, virtualization, networking, hardware, and OS-level issues.
- Perform Linux kernel and system-level performance tuning when required.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and provide technical guidance on platform and infrastructure best practices.

- Strong Linux administration and OS-level troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with production-grade virtualization, servers, networking, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently handle complex infrastructure environments.
- Good understanding of security, reliability, automation, and infrastructure best practices.

Compensation

CTC: Up to ₹15 LPACompensation will depend on experience, technical expertise, and overall fit.
