Job Description

- Manage overall heat-wise operations of LF/VD and lead shift activities while ensuring protected and efficient working practices.
- Operate and monitor LF (Ladle Furnace) and VD (Vacuum Degassing) processes to achieve production and quality targets.
- Experience in EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) and VOD (Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization) operations will be an added advantage.
- Possess strong knowledge of alloy steel melting, secondary metallurgy, and clean steel-making practices.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, process standards, and customer requirements.
- Monitor and control key process parameters to achieve desired metallurgical and product quality results.
- Manage raw material, alloy additions, and consumable inventory effectively to support uninterrupted operations.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, yield improvement, and resource conservation.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality,



safety, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze process data and implement corrective and preventive actions for process improvements.
- Guide and mentor shift personnel to ensure discipline, skill development, and team effectiveness.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, quality issues, and equipment-related problems.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory regulations in all operations.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and planning teams for smooth execution of operations.
- Monitor consumption norms and take initiatives to reduce operational losses and improve productivity.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to implement sustainable improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, production records, and process documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems for reporting, inventory management, and process monitoring.
- Ensure achievement of shift production targets while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
- Shall have relevant experience in an Alloy Steel Plant, preferably in steel melting shop and secondary metallurgy operations.
