Embedded Software Engineer / Technical Lead – Automotive & Semiconductor

Location: Bangalore Experience: 4-15 Years Industry: Automotive / Embedded Systems

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Embedded Software Engineers and Technical Leads with strong expertise in microcontroller and SoC-based software development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Embedded C/C++, RTOS, device driver development, bootloaders, BSP, and low-level system software development in automotive or semiconductor environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop embedded software for resource-constrained microcontroller/microprocessor environments.
- Design, develop, integrate, and validate device drivers, BSP, bootloaders, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Work on RTOS architecture, system software, and low-level firmware development.
- Perform hardware and software debugging using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and other debugging tools.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system-level issues.




- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from requirements to validation and release.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software within committed timelines.
- Maintain software version control and release management using Git.

Mandatory Skills

✅ AUTOSAR MCAL Driver Development

✅ Solid programming experience in Embedded C/C++

✅ Experience with RTOS programming and architecture

✅ Hands-on expertise in:

- MCAL
- Device Drivers
- BSP (Board Support Package)
- Bootloader Development
- Bootstrap Software
- Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL)

✅ Strong debugging skills using:

- JTAG
- Oscilloscope
- Hardware Debuggers

✅ Excellent system debugging and issue triaging skills

✅ Experience working on SoCs/Microcontrollers within the semiconductor industry

✅ Familiarity with Git version control and release management

✅ Experience across the complete embedded software development lifecycle

Preferred Skills

- ARM Cortex / Cortex-M / e200 Microcontroller Architecture

- Automotive Embedded Software Development

- Functional Safety ( ISO 26262 )

- Automotive Cybersecurity ( ISO 21434 )

- RTOS and System Software Design & Architecture

- Bootloader, Microkernel, Control Software, and Device Driver Integration

- Experience leading embedded software/firmware development teams

- Experience in RTOS bring-up, kernel development, validation, and verification activities

Gathering of requirements-Assist in conducting workshops and discussions with client stakeholders to gather business process requirements.

Coding and Configuration-"Develop and deliver code for assigned modules, in alignment with client requirements ensuring proper integration with system components.

Testing and Trial Runs-"Execute testing for assigned modules, validate functionality across required interactions, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.

Implementation-Participate in implementation of software application and its integration with other systems to ensure stability.

Maintain Documentation-Prepare detailed reports and documentation on project specifications, activities, and status, while presenting information using flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, code comments, and clear, well-structured code.

Stakeholder Collaboration-Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements, support development activities, check system compatibility, and ensure solutions meet expected standards.
