Role Description The Lead Innovation and Startup Ecosystem role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The individual in this role will drive BDO India's engagement with the startup and innovation ecosystem, including identifying emerging ventures, building strategic partnerships, and fostering collaborations with incubators, accelerators, investors, and industry bodies. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing innovation strategies, curating programs and initiatives for startups, evaluating potential collaborations and investments, and coordinating with internal service lines to tailor solutions for startup clients. The role involves conducting market and sector research, organizing ecosystem events and thought leadership activities,



and representing BDO India at key forums to enhance visibility and influence in the startup landscape. The leader will also track performance metrics, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure alignment of ecosystem initiatives with the firm's broader business objectives.
Qualifications

- Strong experience in innovation management, startup ecosystem development, or venture building, with a track record of working with startups, incubators, accelerators, or investors.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, business development, and partnership management, including the ability to design and execute ecosystem programs and initiatives.
- Solid understanding of emerging technologies, digital transformation trends, and sectoral developments relevant to startups and high-growth companies.
- Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership, external partners, and community organizations.
- Demonstrated analytical and research capabilities, including market analysis, opportunity assessment, and performance tracking.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and operate in a quick-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in consulting, corporate innovation, venture capital, or startup leadership is highly beneficial.
