Company Description Wedding Chakra is a Chennai-based wedding planning, decor, and event production company that helps couples and families transform ideas into thoughtfully designed celebrations. The team works across traditional South Indian weddings, contemporary receptions, engagements, and destination weddings, connecting creative concepts with practical venue, ceremony, and guest experience needs. Services include wedding planning and coordination, mandap and stage design, floral installations, venue styling, and full event production. Wedding Chakra also collaborates with planners, venues, and production partners on design and execution, and showcases real wedding projects and behind-the-scenes insights through its digital platforms.
Role Description The Wedding Architect is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai, responsible for designing and orchestrating end-to-end wedding experiences. This role involves conceptualizing event layouts, mandap and stage designs, guest flow, and decor schemes tailored to each couple's preferences and cultural requirements. The Wedding Architect coordinates closely with planners, venue teams, production partners, and vendors to translate design concepts into executable plans, ensuring seamless integration of decor, lighting, sound, and logistics. Day-to-day tasks include preparing design proposals, floor plans, and mood boards, overseeing on-site setup and teardown, managing timelines and budgets, and resolving issues during pre-event planning and live events.



The role requires frequent on-site presence at venues, client meetings, and rehearsals, and includes weekend and evening work aligned with event schedules.
Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to create functional, aesthetically compelling event layouts and spatial plans.
- Experience in Project Management, including timeline creation, resource coordination, vendor management, and on-site execution for events or built environments.
- Understanding of Integration between design concepts and technical elements (lighting, AV, staging, decor systems), collaborating effectively with production and technical teams.
- Familiarity with Software Development principles or digital tools is beneficial for working with planning platforms, design software, and collaboration systems.
- Proficiency in design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar), along with strong documentation and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across client, vendor, and venue teams and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and multi-day events, maintaining composure in fast-paced environments.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Event Design, or a related discipline; prior experience in wedding or event design is an advantage.
