Position Summary

This role focuses on improving monitoring effectiveness by identifying optimization opportunities across multiple event sources and enhancing alert quality.

The candidate is expected to have a broad understanding of how different monitoring sources operate within production environments and contribute to improving signal quality through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze alerts across diverse monitoring sources and identify optimization opportunities
- Contribute to reduction of alert noise through tuning and improvement initiatives
- Work across monitoring domains (infrastructure, application, batch, network, and mainframe) to improve alert effectiveness
- Develop a functional understanding of how different monitoring sources generate and trigger events
- Identify recurring patterns and support data-driven improvements across event streams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance monitoring coverage and quality
- Support adoption of intelligent/AI-driven approaches for improving alert efficiency and reducing manual effort

Required Qualifications

- 8–12 years in monitoring, event management, or production support environments




- Exposure to multi-domain monitoring environments (, infrastructure, application, batch, network, or mainframe)
- Functional understanding of how monitoring systems generate alerts (no deep technical expertise required)
- Demonstrated contribution toward alert reduction or monitoring improvement initiatives
- Robust analytical mindset with ability to identify patterns in event data

Technology Stack / Exposure Areas (High-Level)

- Event Management Platforms: Netcool, Big Panda, Splunk (or similar)
- Monitoring Tools: Optimization Lead- ITM6, ITM6K20, ITM6LOG, SCOM
- Batch / Workload Monitoring: Auto Sys or similar tools
- Log Analytics / Data Handling: Splunk, ELK, or equivalent
- Automation / AI (Good to have): Exposure to scripting or AI-assisted optimization approaches
