Role summary

Lead a backend engineering team building the Document Management System services on Java Spring Boot and GCP

Hands on role expect to write code while owning technical quality delivery and the growth of the team

Key responsibilities

Lead design and development of backend microservices in Java 17 Spring Boot deployed on Cloud Run and GKE

Build core capabilities file upload download including large file resumable and signed URL flows search and filtering metadata management workspace governance and admin functions

Design and deliver API first well documented REST APIs exposed via Apigee for internal and external integrations

Implement asynchronous event driven processing with Pub Sub for ingestion enrichment and notification flows

Build ingestion connectors manual upload SMT Pemail based ingestion and system to system API ingestion

Own Alloy DB data access schema design batch bulk inserts query and index tuning connection pool management for high concurrency workloads

Build and run the migration tooling bucket to bucket transfers via Storage Transfer Service MongoDB Alloy DB metadata migration with batching idempotency checkpointing and reconciliation reporting





Integrate Document AI Vertex AI enrichment pipelines into the ingestion flow

Implement Okta based authentication and authorization role permission enforcement and audit logging across services

Apply caching and performance optimization strategies to meet latency targets under load

Own engineering quality code reviews coding standards unit integration test coverage static analysis and security scanning

Own CICD pipelines branching strategy release management and production support on call for owned services

Mentor engineers conduct technical interviews

Required skills experience

12 years backend development with 4 years leading a team

Robust Java 17 and Spring Boot REST Spring Security Spring Data dependency injection concurrency

Handson GCP Cloud Storage Cloud Run GKE PubSub Cloud SQLAlloyDB IAM Secret Manager Cloud LoggingMonitoring

Strong SQL and PostgreSQLAlloyDB skills query optimization indexing bulk operations

Experience building highthroughput systems and processing large data volumes

Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals CICD Cloud Build GitHub Actions or Jenkins

Solid testing discipline JUnit Mockito Testcontainers integration and load testing

Comfortable collaborating with React frontend developers on API contracts
