About the Role

We are seeking Computational Biology Subject Matter Experts to contribute to an advanced Scientific AI project focused on evaluating AI systems' biological reasoning and scientific programming capabilities. The role involves developing and reviewing research-level biological problems, implementing Python solutions, and validating scientific code and test cases.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop advanced scientific coding problems involving biological models, quantitative analysis, and mathematical reasoning.
- Define problem specifications, including equations, parameters, assumptions, inputs, and expected outputs.
- Develop, debug, and validate Python reference solutions for biological modelling problems.
- Create hidden test cases covering edge cases, biological constraints, stochastic behaviour, and numerical accuracy.
- Review scientific code, biological models, and test cases for correctness, reliability, and reproducibility.
- Identify and document errors in problem statements, computational models, code, and expected results.

Required Qualifications

- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry , Ecology, Genetics.
- Solid quantitative expertise in biological modelling, genetics, ecology, biochemistry,



or related fields.
- Hands-on Python programming experience; proficiency in Python is mandatory.
- Ability to translate biological models and mathematical equations into accurate Python implementations.
- Experience debugging code, developing test cases, and independently validating scientific results.
- Strong analytical, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, or scientific computing libraries.
- Knowledge of population modelling, ecological simulations, biochemical kinetics, systems biology, or stochastic biological models.
- Experience reviewing scientific code, biological datasets, or quantitative research workflows.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation or scientific coding benchmarks is an advantage.
