We’re Hiring: Business Head – CustomFurnish

Preferred education: IIT engineering graduate with an MBA from an IIM, or equivalent premier institutions

About the Role :

CustomFurnish is an interior design and modular furniture company with its own manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. We are looking for an ambitious, commercially sharp Business Head to lead the entire business and take ownership of growth, profitability, customer experience and day-to-day execution.

This role brings together sales, design, production, installation, marketing, digital marketing and technology. Working with functional leaders, the Business Head will build accountable teams, strengthen processes and ensure that business commitments translate into results.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Growth and Profitability

- Own revenue, margins, operating budgets and business performance.
- Develop and execute plans to increase sales, improve conversion and drive profitable growth.
- Identify new channels, partnerships and business opportunities.
- Monitor collections, costs and cash flow in coordination with finance.

Sales and Customer Experience

- Lead the sales function and improve lead follow-up, conversion and team productivity.
- Ensure transparent quotations, realistic commitments and adherence to commercial policies.
- Own the customer experience from initial enquiry through design, execution, handover and service.
- Resolve escalations and address the underlying causes of recurring complaints.

Design, Production and Installation

- Oversee design timelines, approvals and the release of complete drawings to production.
- Work with factory leadership to ensure capacity, material availability, quality and timely manufacturing.
- Oversee dispatch, installation and handover across projects.
- Hold functional heads accountable for delivery timelines, quality, costs and closure of pending work.

Marketing and Social Media





- Lead marketing strategy, brand positioning, digital campaigns and social media.
- Improve lead quality and measure marketing performance through enquiries, conversions and customer acquisition costs.
- Coordinate internal teams and agencies to deliver effective content and campaigns.

Software, Systems and Process Improvement

- Own the effective use of CRM, design software, production tracking and management reporting.
- Identify opportunities for automation and better coordination across functions.
- Work with internal teams or technology vendors to implement useful improvements.
- Build dashboards that make performance, delays and accountability visible.

People Leadership

- Set clear goals and performance measures for each function.
- Run regular business reviews and ensure decisions are followed through.
- Recruit, develop and manage teams as the business grows.
- Take independent decisions within agreed authority and reduce dependence on the CEO for routine matters.

Candidate Profile

- Preferably an IIT graduate with an MBA from an IIM, or a comparable academic background.
- 5 years of relevant experience in business operations, general management, strategy and execution, or leading a business unit.
- Demonstrated ownership of measurable business outcomes and experience managing teams or cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience in interiors, furniture, manufacturing, consumer businesses or businesses involving site execution would be an advantage.
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability and comfort with financial and operational data.
- Comfortable working hands-on across a factory, customer-facing teams and project sites.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to turn plans into results.

Success Measures

Revenue growth, profitability, sales conversion, collections, on-time project completion, quality, customer satisfaction and team productivity.

This is an opportunity to take substantial business ownership and work directly with the CEO to build CustomFurnish’s next phase of growth.
