About Role:

The VDI Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Windows 365 and VDI environments to ensure secure, high-performance, and seamless end-user experiences. The role focuses on creating and maintaining hardened Windows 365 images, defining performance and security benchmarks, and leading VDI optimization as a top-priority initiative. This position also includes developing and managing a structured patching and maintenance lifecycle-covering cadence, testing, and rollout-while collaborating with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance and stability.

The ideal candidate should bring strong technical expertise in Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and endpoint optimization, with a proactive approach to improving user experience and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions with a primary focus on Windows 365.
- Lead VDI optimization as a high-priority workstream, ensuring top-tier performance, security, and user experience.
- Develop and maintain a benchmark Windows 365 image that is hardened, secure, and aligned with CIS and least-privilege standards.
- Define and monitor performance, security, and usability baselines to ensure consistent cloud image quality.
- Strategize and manage VDI patching cycles-establishing cadence, testing protocols, and rollout mechanisms.
- Document and communicate the VDI patching and maintenance lifecycle in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, operational excellence, and process improvement.




- Provide subject-matter expertise in virtualization, performance tuning, and endpoint optimization.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and guide teams in adhering to standardized configurations.
- Stay current with Microsoft and virtualization ecosystem updates to proactively implement best practices.

Required Skills:

- Provide ongoing VDI support, including user assistance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct regular system monitoring and performance optimization to maintain high availability.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and desktop entitlements in the VDI environment.
- Perform virtual desktop image updates, patching, and version control in line with security standards. Decide on cadence (monthly/quarterly/feature driven).
- Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure optimal infrastructure performance.
- Manage software and application deployment across virtual desktops.
- Lead system upgrades and preventive maintenance activities with minimal downtime.
- Define and implement standardized VDI provisioning and retirement processes.
- Create and maintain VDI support documentation and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance automation and process efficiency within the VDI workplace.
- Setting up Windows 365 benchmark by defining performance, security, and user experience standards for the cloud-based image.
