We are seeking a Java Technical Architect who owns the end-to-end architecture of cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS products. You will bring deep hands-on expertise in Java (8 through 17/21), Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven systems and AWS, combined with the judgment to make and defend architectural trade-offs.
This is a hands-on architecture role. You will define target architectures, set engineering standards, review critical code, and guide multiple teams and Technical Leads. You will also act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating business goals into scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions
What you’ll do:
Architecture &
- Solution Design
- - Define and own the end-to-end architecture for enterprise, cloud-native SaaS products, from solution vision to deployment topology.
- Design multi-tenant architectures, including tenant isolation, data partitioning, tenant-aware security and per-tenant configuration.
- Decompose domains using Domain Driven Design (DDD) and define microservice boundaries, APIs and data ownership.
- Design event-driven and reactive systems using Kafka, CQRS, event sourcing and Saga patterns where appropriate.
- Define non-functional requirements (scalability, availability, performance, security, observability, cost) and design to meet them.
- Architect AWS solutions using services such as EKS, S3, Cognito, KMS, RDS, SQS/SNS, API Gateway and Lambda.
- Evaluate options and present multiple architectural approaches with clear trade-offs, then document decisions as Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Lead modernization of legacy monoliths to microservices and cloud-native platforms.
- Research emerging technologies, including AI/ML and GenAI integrations, and build proofs of concept to validate them.
Technical Leadership &
- Governance
- - Set coding standards, reference architectures, reusable frameworks and engineering best practices across teams.
- Review designs and critical code through Git pull requests, ensuring quality, security and performance.
- Mentor Technical Leads and senior engineers,
and raise the overall architecture maturity of the team.
- Define API strategy and standards for REST, gRPC and GraphQL services, including versioning and contracts.
- Drive security by design: authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT), encryption, secrets management and OWASP compliance.
- Establish observability standards for logging, metrics, distributed tracing and alerting.
- Guide CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices, and own performance and load-testing strategy.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis for critical incidents.
Collaboration &
- Delivery
- - Engage with clients and stakeholders in pre-sales and discovery to shape solutions, estimates and technical proposals.
- Conduct requirement, feasibility and impact analysis for new features and change requests.
- Coordinate architecture and dependencies across onsite, offshore and external teams.
- Work with product owners and delivery managers to align technical roadmaps with business priorities.
- Participate in scrum ceremonies and support delivery teams through the full project lifecycle, including warranty support.
Your Qualifications
Experience
- - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 12–16 years of software development experience in Java, with at least 4 years in an architect or solution architect role.
- Proven record of architecting and delivering cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS products at enterprise scale.
- Experience leading multiple teams and Technical Leads across concurrent projects.
Technical Skills
- - Expert in Java 8 and modern Java (11/17/21), including concurrency, JVM internals and performance tuning.
- Deep expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud (Config, Gateway, Discovery), Spring Security and Spring WebFlux.
- Strong command of microservices architecture, DDD, CQRS, event sourcing, and resilience patterns (circuit breaker, retry, bulkhead).
- Mastery of design patterns, including GoF, J2EE, enterprise integration and cloud design patterns.
- Hands-on AWS experience is a must, including EKS, S3, Cognito, KMS, RDS, IAM and networking (VPC). AWS Solutions Architect certification is a strong plus.
- Proven experience designing multi-tenancy (database-per-tenant, schema-per-tenant and shared-schema models).
- Solid SQL and data modeling with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL;
experience with NoSQL such as MongoDB, Cassandra or DynamoDB.
- Experience with caching (Redis, Hazelcast) and search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
- Skilled in ORM and data access with Hibernate, JPA, MyBatis/iBatis and JDBC.
- Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ or JMS.
- Proficient in designing and consuming REST, gRPC and GraphQL APIs.

- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- CI/CD with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI; build tools Maven and Gradle; version control with Git.
- Testing practices including TDD, JUnit, Mockito, contract testing, and performance testing with JMeter or Gatling.
- Observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry or Datadog.
- Working knowledge of application security, OAuth2/OIDC, and compliance needs such as SOC 2, GDPR or HIPAA.
- Hands on experience with AI Productivity tools such as Chat GPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude.
