Job Purpose/ Summary

Support SMS Scrap Yard Operations

The Stainless Steel Scrap Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily scrap yard operations, ensuring safe handling, sorting, storage, processing, and dispatch of stainless steel scrap materials. The role includes supervising workers, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring quality standards, and meeting production and safety targets.

Responsibility

Supervise daily scrap yard operations and manage the workforce effectivelybrEnsure proper sorting grading and segregation of stainless steel scrap including SS 304 316 and 202brMonitor the loading unloading weighing and dispatch of scrap materials to ensure accuracy and efficiencybrMaintain accurate inventory and stock records to support operational transparency and accountabilitybrCoordinate with procurement production and logistics teams to optimize scrap yard operationsbrEnsure compliance with safety environmental and company policies to maintain a safe working environmentbrConduct daily toolbox talks and enforce the use of personal protective equipment among all personnelbrMonitor equipment such as forklifts cranes and loaders and report any maintenance requirements promptlybrInspect incoming scrap for quality and contamination to uphold material standardsbrPrepare daily production inventory and dispatch reports to provide explicit operational insightsbrTrain and motivate yard personnel to improve productivity and operational efficiency
