Role Description The Student Counsellor – Study Abroad is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi. This role involves guiding prospective students through the entire study abroad lifecycle, including understanding academic backgrounds, career goals, and preferred destinations, and recommending suitable universities, programs, and pathways. The counsellor will conduct consultations, explain admission and visa requirements, assist with application preparation, and coordinate documentation in line with institutional and immigration guidelines.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing inquiries, maintaining accurate records in the internal CRM, following up with leads, and supporting students through test preparation, interview readiness, and pre-departure briefings. The role also requires collaboration with internal teams, participation in events or seminars, and staying updated on international education trends, admission criteria, and policy changes.

Qualifications

- Counsel students on study-abroad opportunities, courses, universities, and admission pathways.
- Handle new and existing student enquiries through calls, WhatsApp, email, and meetings.
- Understand student profiles, academic backgrounds, career goals, and budget to recommend suitable options.
- Convert enquiries and leads into student sign-ups.
- Follow up consistently with prospective students and parents to drive conversions.
- Maintain accurate student and lead information in the CRM.
- Stay updated on admission requirements, intakes, visa processes, scholarships, and university updates.
- Coordinate with the Processing and Documentation teams to ensure a smooth student journey.
- Achieve individual and team-based counselling and conversion targets.
- Build positive relationships with students and parents while providing professional guidance.
- Work collaboratively with the team and support overall branch targets.
- Experience counselling students for multiple international destinations is preferred, including:

UK | Australia | Canada | New Zealand | USA | Europe

- Candidates with knowledge of a wider range of countries and study destinations will have an added advantage.

Requirements

- Previous experience in study abroad/Overseas counselling preferred.
- Proven experience in student counselling, follow-ups, and conversions/sign-ups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong follow-up and negotiation skills.
- Target-oriented and result-driven approach.
- Good CRM and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated with changing international education policies and opportunities.
- Willing to appear in company’s social media videos related to student visas, with creative and presentation skills preferred.
