Position Overview:

Oversee the complete supplier ecosystem for the electric traction motor & controller sourcing including development. This role will be responsible for developing a robust vendor base, ensuring quality, cost competitiveness, and supply reliability for all business units of Motor & Controllers. The position involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, supply chain risk management , cost optimization, and supplier capability enhancement aligned with business growth and localization goals.

Role & responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Localization

- Ecosystem Development: Formulate and execute end-to-end global and domestic sourcing strategies specifically for electric traction motors, controllers, and their sub-components.
- Localization Drive: Lead the localization roadmap to reduce import dependencies, leverage domestic supply chain advantages, and ensure compliance with regional regulatory mandates.
- Vendor Onboarding: Identify, evaluate, and develop a robust panel of world-class suppliers capable of matching the technology roadmaps of diverse business units.

Supplier Development & Capability Enhancement

- Technical Upgradation: Partner with suppliers to upgrade their manufacturing processes, adoption of automation,



and overall technological capabilities to meet future EV demands.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborating with Quality teams to implement advanced quality planning (APQP, PPAP) and drive zero-defect mentalities across the vendor base.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity audits to ensure suppliers can seamlessly scale up production in tandem with our business growth.

Cost Optimization & Financial Management

- Should-Cost Modeling: Deploy clean-sheet costing and should-cost models for motors and controllers to ensure highly competitive procurement pricing.
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Drive structural cost-reduction programs, value engineering (VAVE), and commercial negotiations to optimize the TCO without compromising on quality.

Risk Management & Supply Reliability

- Risk Mitigation: Continuously assess global supply chain vulnerabilities and establish robust de-risking mechanisms.
- Dual Sourcing: Implement effective dual or multi-sourcing strategies for critical components to guarantee business continuity.
- Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and manage long-term supply agreements (LTAs), ensuring favorable terms for capacity reservation and price indexing.
