Job Title: Steel Welding Helper

Department: Production / Fabrication

Reports To: Welding Supervisor / Fabricator

Job Summary

We are looking for a Steel Welding Helper to assist welders and fabricators with welding and steel fabrication activities in the workshop. The candidate will support material preparation, positioning, grinding, handling, and general workshop activities while following safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist welders in daily welding and fabrication work.
- Arrange and move steel plates, pipes, angles, channels, and other materials.
- Clean and prepare steel surfaces before welding.
- Assist in positioning, holding, and aligning materials for welding.
- Support welders with electrodes, welding machines, tools, and materials.
- Perform basic grinding, cutting, drilling, and finishing work under supervision.
- Remove slag and clean welded areas after welding.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and shifting fabricated steel items.
- Maintain tools and keep the welding/work area clean and organized.
- Follow instructions from welders and supervisors.
- Strictly follow workshop safety procedures and use required PPE.




- Report unsafe conditions, damaged tools, or equipment problems to the supervisor.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a welding helper or fabrication helper is preferred.
- Freshers with a willingness to learn may be considered.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a steel fabrication environment.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools is an advantage.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good discipline, punctuality, and willingness to follow instructions.

Working Conditions
- Factory/workshop workplace.
- Work may involve heat, sparks, welding fumes, noise, dust, and handling heavy materials.
- Must use appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, helmet, safety glasses, and welding-area protection as required.
