Job Summary

Responsible for independently designing and developing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), automation systems, fixtures, and customized machinery as per customer and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop machine concepts and complete SPM mechanical designs.
- Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, layouts, and BOMs.
- Perform design calculations and select suitable mechanical components.
- Design mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, pneumatic systems, and material-handling arrangements.
- Apply GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and engineering standards.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and vendors for design execution.
- Review drawings for manufacturability, assembly, safety, and cost optimization.
- Support machine assembly, trials, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Make design modifications based on machine performance and customer feedback.
- Ensure timely release of drawings and engineering documents.




- Guide junior engineers/designers on technical design activities.
- Identify opportunities for design standardization and cost reduction.

Required Skills

- Solid hands-on experience in SPM Automation Machine Design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks/ Creo/ Solid edge
- Good knowledge of machine mechanisms, pneumatics, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, linear guides, and motors.
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
- Good understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently handle design projects from concept to commissioning.
