Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer is a full time, remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Superfan.ng’s platform. This role involves building and managing CI/CD pipelines, optimizing system performance, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of production environments.

The Senior

DevOps Engineer will collaborate with software developers to streamline deployments, automate infrastructure provisioning, and monitor systems for uptime and resilience. Day-to-day tasks include managing cloud resources, improving observability, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing best practices for configuration management and infrastructure as code. The role also contributes to technical decision-making, mentors team members, and helps shape operational standards and tooling.





Qualifications

- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, including tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar solutions.
- Software Development skills in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript) for tooling, automation, and CI/CD integrations.
- Hands-on Continuous Integration experience with platforms like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- System Administration and Linux skills for managing servers, containers, networking, and security controls.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, Datadog, or similar).
- Background in designing scalable, fault-tolerant architectures and implementing robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document systems and processes.
- Several years of professional DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience; prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment is beneficial.
- A genuine interest in African culture, languages, or edtech is a plus.
