Role - Senior Developer – AI Engineering (Full-Stack .NET + Azure + Generative AI)
Location: [City, India] (Hybrid / Remote — Gurugram)
Experience: 12–15 years
Compensation: Up to ₹38 LPA
Employment Type: Full-time
Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days Serving Notice Period Preferred
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Developer – AI Engineering to design, build, and deploy AI agents and the full-stack applications around them using Microsoft technologies, Azure AI services, and Python. You will translate enterprise processes and SOPs into agent capabilities that retrieve information, reason over enterprise data, prepare work, and execute governed actions with appropriate human oversight.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining agent and prompt engineering, back-end and API development, enterprise integration, and modern front-end work — delivered under clear security, governance, and auditability standards.
You will report to the Director of Solutions Architecture, work closely with global IT leadership, and mentor developers as we scale our AI capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents across Operations, Finance, and Commercial domains.
- Implement orchestration logic that interprets user intent, selects the right agent and tools, validates results, and returns auditable outcomes.
- Build and tune RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions grounded in SOPs, process models, business rules, and data definitions.
- Apply prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and structured output techniques.
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, Python, SQL Server, and modern front-end frameworks (React.js / Angular / Vue.js).
- Design and deliver secure, well-documented RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and cloud-native solutions on Azure — including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI.
- Integrate agents with enterprise systems of record through governed tools and APIs, and work with near-real-time data pipelines and event streams.
- Apply AI governance and responsible-use standards — identity and access control, guardrails, audit and traceability, human oversight, and compliance.
- Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles, OWASP secure coding standards, and Agile delivery practices, supported by CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application and agent performance, scalability, and cost.
- Partner with architects, product owners, and global IT teams; participate in code and design reviews; mentor developers; and maintain technical documentation.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of full-stack development experience with Microsoft technologies (NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building LLM-based or agentic solutions in production or advanced pilot — including prompt engineering, RAG, and tool/function calling.
- Solid hands-on proficiency in Python for AI, agent, and data workloads, alongside C# / .NET.
- Practical experience with at least one enterprise AI platform or framework: Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Semantic Kernel, or LangChain.
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure DevOps and Azure Functions.
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Strong understanding of web services, RESTful APIs, and database technologies, including advanced SQL and query optimisation.
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems of record and third-party services.
- Familiarity with application and AI security standards — OWASP Top 10, identity and access control, data protection.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot efficiently.
- Ability to mentor developers and collaborate within a distributed, multi-time-zone team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or transportation technology.
- Exposure to CargoWise, enterprise integration platforms, or MCP-style tool interfaces.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and document intelligence / OCR.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar data platforms and near-real-time event processing.
- Experience implementing AI evaluation, observability, guardrails, and cost governance at enterprise scale.
Core Competencies
- Self-Management — Drive and ability to deliver without constant supervision.
- Technical Curiosity — Thinks outside the box; adopts new technologies and approaches.
- Logic — Works through complex, abstract solutions and processes.
- Business Understanding — Genuine interest in how the business operates.
- Language — Fluent English (verbal and written); additional languages a plus.
- Communication — Clear technical and business communication across regions.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to build production AI agents in a global enterprise.
- Work with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, and modern .NET.
- Collaboration with senior architects and global IT leadership.
- Competitive compensation up to ₹38 LPA.
- Hybrid/remote flexibility (update).
