Role Description The Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI models that power Superfan.ng’s language and culture learning experiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing neural network architectures, implementing NLP solutions for African languages, and developing pattern recognition algorithms to personalize quizzes and learning paths.

The role involves collaborating closely with product, engineering, and content teams to translate educational requirements into scalable AI features, as well as maintaining production ML pipelines and monitoring model performance. This is a full-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, ownership of end-to-end solutions,



and continuous experimentation to improve learner engagement and outcomes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, APIs, and scalable systems.
- Proficiency in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, with experience training, evaluating, and deploying deep learning models.
- Hands-on expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), preferably with multilingual or low-resource languages and text-based learning applications.
- Advanced programming skills in Python or similar languages, and experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar libraries.
- Experience designing and operating end-to-end ML pipelines, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and monitoring in production.
- Comfort working in remote, cross-functional teams, with transparent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background or interest in edtech, African languages, or African cultural studies is highly beneficial.
