Security Engineer – Penetration Testing & Security Automation

Symosis Security is a cybersecurity consulting and engineering firm based in Silicon Valley, with delivery teams in the US and India. We help enterprise and public-sector clients assess risk, test defenses, and implement security improvements across applications, cloud platforms, identity, and AI systems.

Our services include penetration testing, red teaming, security advisory, AI security, security engineering and automation, and managed security operations. You’ll work directly with senior practitioners on client engagements, with opportunities to build tools, deepen your technical skills, and take ownership of delivery.

What you’ll do

- Conduct web application, API, and internal/external network penetration tests.
- Support mobile application testing and authorized red team engagements.
- Build testing utilities, scripts, and security automation using Python and PowerShell.
- Write clear findings, recommend practical fixes, and perform remediation retesting.




- Work directly with senior practitioners on enterprise and public-sector engagements.

Essential qualifications

- 5-7 years of relevant hands-on security experience.
- Strong manual testing skills across web/API and network environments.
- At least one penetration testing certification: OSCP, OSEP, CEH, CEH Practical, GPEN, GWAPT, or equivalent.
- Practical coding experience.
- Strong written English and client-ready reporting skills.

Strong plus

- AI-assisted coding with Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools, including reviewing, debugging, and validating generated code.
- CISSP or multiple security certifications.
- Android/iOS penetration testing and red team experience.
- Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory security.
- Tier 3 SOC/NOC experience, threat hunting, incident response, and detection engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel/Defender, CrowdStrike, or Rapid7.
