Job Title: SAP BTP Datasphere AI & Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP Datasphere professional with strong expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, semantic modeling, and enterprise data integration. The ideal candidate should also have hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and AI/agentic applications built on enterprise data.

The role involves building governed, AI-ready data products using SAP BTP Datasphere, integrating SAP and non-SAP enterprise sources, and developing intelligent data experiences such as conversational analytics and data agents.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop governed data products using SAP BTP Datasphere.
- Work with Datasphere Spaces, views, models, sharing mechanisms, and semantic models.
- Build enterprise-grade analytical and semantic models suitable for both analytics and AI consumption.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP enterprise data sources with Datasphere.
- Develop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions using governed enterprise data.
- Integrate LLMs, retrieval systems, prompts, tools, and enterprise data to build AI-powered data experiences.
- Develop data agents capable of retrieving information, calling tools, and generating grounded responses.
- Implement data quality, validation, transformation, and reconciliation processes.
- Design layered data architectures such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
- Support modernization and migration from legacy SAP BW environments to Datasphere, including BW Bridge scenarios.




- Implement data retrieval strategies while maintaining data security, access controls, governance, and traceability.
- Work with vector search, embeddings, and external AI retrieval components where required.
- Establish evaluation and regression frameworks for AI-powered applications.
- Monitor AI application performance, grounding quality, latency, failures, and other telemetry.
- Follow software engineering practices including CI/CD, version control, code reviews, testing, and automated validation.
- Collaborate with business, data governance, engineering, and platform teams to deliver reusable enterprise solutions.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP Datasphere.
- Expertise in SAP Datasphere data modeling and semantic modeling.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience with SAP BW / BW/4HANA is highly desirable.
- Understanding of enterprise data integration and analytical data models.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and retrieval/grounding techniques.
- Knowledge of AI agents, prompt engineering, tool calling, and evaluation frameworks.
- Understanding of data quality, validation, governance, and access controls.
- Strong software engineering and integration fundamentals.
- Exposure to APIs, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing.
