Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Health Underwriter (Retail) to manage individual and corporate health insurance requirements. The role involves preparing and comparing insurance quotations, coordinating with clients and insurance companies, managing policy documentation and renewals, and ensuring timely resolution of client queries.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle health insurance requirements for individual and corporate clients.

- Understand client requirements and prepare appropriate health insurance quotations.

- Obtain quotations from multiple insurance companies, compare coverage and premiums, and recommend the most suitable quote to the client.

- Coordinate with insurance companies for policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and other policy-related requirements.

- Download and maintain policy documents from various insurance company portals.

- Share policy documents with clients through email, courier, or hand delivery, as required.

- Prepare invoices and share them with clients along with the online payment links.

- Coordinate with the Data Entry team regarding received cheques and payment-related information.

- Verify online NEFT/payment details, download relevant records, and share them with the Data Entry team for further processing.

- Maintain accurate records of policies, quotations, payments, renewals, and client communications.

- Coordinate with clients and send renewal reminders through email and other appropriate communication channels.

- Follow up with insurance companies for renewal notices, quotations, policy issuance, and other pending requirements.





- Attend client calls related to mediclaim, policy details, premiums, renewals, and general insurance queries.

- Understand and resolve client queries effectively, ensuring first-time resolution wherever possible.

- Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide timely support throughout the policy lifecycle.

- Ensure all client requests and internal processes are completed accurately and within the required timelines.

- Coordinate with internal teams and insurance companies to ensure smooth and timely policy servicing.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of Health Insurance / Mediclaim products and processes.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Valuable client servicing and relationship management skills.

- Ability to compare insurance quotations and understand coverage, premiums, and policy terms.

- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.

- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling policy and payment-related information.

- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Customer-oriented approach with good problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in Health Insurance, Insurance Broking or Insurance Operations will be preferred.

- Prior experience in retail health insurance will be an added advantage.

- Candidates with experience in coordinating with multiple insurance companies and handling client portfolios will be preferred.
