Captain – Roles & Responsibilities | Indeed

- Supervise and coordinate the restaurant service team during daily operations.
- Ensure smooth and efficient service while maintaining high guest satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and allocate duties to team members.
- Welcome guests, assist with seating and ensure attentive table service.
- Take orders accurately and ensure timely coordination with the kitchen and bar.
- Handle guest requests, feedback and complaints professionally.
- Monitor table setup, cleanliness, service standards and overall restaurant presentation.
- Guide, train and support junior service staff to improve their performance.
- Ensure proper handling of crockery, cutlery, glassware and other service equipment.
- Coordinate with the kitchen, bar and Restaurant Manager for smooth operations.




- Monitor service timing and ensure food and beverages are served as per standards.
- Promote upselling and suggestive selling to improve revenue and guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, hygiene standards and operational procedures.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily reports, stock checks, staff discipline and other operational requirements.
- Take responsibility for maintaining qualified conduct and discipline within the service team.
